Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 camera leaks suggest a major hardware update

In the latest buzz around Google’s Pixel series, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 camera leaks and AI tricks have surfaced online. After the recent launch of Google Pixel 9 series, the upcoming flagship devices are set to showcase significant advancements in both camera technology and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, further building on Google’s reputation for blending hardware and software innovations. The Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 are rumoured to release in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
According to the Android Authority report, the Pixel 10 and 11 is expected to feature new camera sensors aimed at capturing crisper, more detailed photos and enhancing low-light performance. With Google historically pushing the boundaries in computational photography, these upgrades could revolutionise smartphone photography once again.
According to the leak, Google plans to introduce a new ultra-wide lens with enhanced stabilisation and improved zoom capabilities to offer users more versatility. The Pixel 11 is expected to feature 100x zoom capabilities powered by machine learning for both photos and videos. However, the algorithms for each format are likely to differ, meaning the quality won’t be identical between them. This, further, complements rumours that the upcoming devices will feature multiple sensors with larger apertures, allowing for more light capture and vibrant colour accuracy.
The leak also suggests that a more advanced telephoto camera lens will also feature in the upcoming devices.
Additionally, these models are expected to support video enhancements, including an ultra-smooth stabilisation mode and dynamic HDR adjustments, allowing for smoother, cinema-grade video capture. Firstly, Tensor G5 finally supports 4K 60fps HDR video, whereas previous models only allowed up to 4K 30fps HDR video.
The Pixel 11’s Cinematic Blur is also set for an upgrade, now supporting 4K at 30fps and introducing a “video relight” feature that can adjust lighting conditions within videos. These enhancements are driven by a “Cinematic Rendering Engine” built into the chip’s image signal processor, as per the leaks. This evolution could be Google’s response to competitors like Apple and Samsung, who have recently made strides in cinematic modes and video recording.
As tech giants like Apple and Samsung push forward in the AI and camera sectors, Google’s rumoured Pixel 10 and 11 features seem designed to maintain, if not amplify, its position as a leader in smartphone innovation. With these anticipated upgrades in camera hardware and AI, Google appears ready to keep pace in the race for the most advanced mobile experience. For Pixel fans and photography enthusiasts alike, these leaks provide an exciting glimpse into a promising future for smartphone technology.
Google is experimenting with a range of AI photo editing tools, including “Speak-to-Tweak,” an editing function powered by large language models, and “Sketch-to-Image,” which allows users to transform sketches into images, akin to a feature on Samsung’s Galaxy AI. The recent leaks indicate that a Sketch-to-Image capability is in development for Google’s Gemini project.
Also in the pipeline is a “Magic Mirror” feature, though specific details remain unclear. The upcoming Tensor G5 chip may further enable Stable Diffusion-based models to run locally, making it possible for the Pixel Studio app to function without server dependence.
